19.7x23.6 in ~ Painting, Oil
A painting of a woman, sitting on a high ledge in front of a seascape. Brown hair, blue eyes, wearing a red dress, she is sitting with her arms folded and her legs crossed, right foot dangling in the air. She is painted in the right part of the picture and watches the seascape with its distant shore to the left. The ledge is pictured in front of a slope that’s covered in trees with mature foliage. Left to the bottom of the ledge are a number of cacti. To the right of the picture the ledge and the trees change into abstract color blocks, gold for the trees and light grey and white for the ledge. The upper part of the picture is framed by a sky blue border.
This painting is dedicated to the end of summer. That time of the year when everything turns golden and there is a crisp, earthy smell in the air. The first glimpse of autumn, when nature slowly slides into what in certain regions is called Indian Summer. All those rich, warm colors and those long, pleasantly warm afternoons merging into a beautiful dusk.
