15.8x11.8 in ~ Painting, Oil
A painting of a woman holding a nautilus shell with both her hands. The red-haired woman is depicted diving to the bottom of the sea. The upper part of her naked body is visible, angled with her head towards the viewer. She has just lifted the sea shell off the sand and is watching it intently. The majority of the abstract background of the painting is a dark blue to indicate the water mass and the bottom part is a warm gold to indicate the sand. The inspiration for this painting is my love of these seashells. Although you need diving gear to go this low, I decided to paint her naked to symbolize the freedom of movement that water gives you.
