A painting of a joker facing a skull, both painted in profile. The joker is pictured on the left part of the painting. It’s a young woman, dressed in a red and green harlequin costume. The thumb of her right fist is touching her lips. Her expression is somewhat astonished and she is watching a skull depicted at the right of the painting. The skull is painted floating against the background and it is cheekily sticking out it’s tongue at the joker. To the back and the right of the skull a few strands of Virginia creeper are hanging down from the top of the painting, going down to the bottom. Joker and skull are set before a sky blue rectangle within the picture. I have an anatomical model of a skull, that I like to play around with. So, painting it outwitting the joker by having it sticking out it’s tongue is a little mischief I just couldn’t let go of…
